This certificate is steeped in Aurora and Nevada history! First of all it stock certificate NUMBER 1. Issued for 100 shares to John Neidy trustee (endorsed on back by Neidy). Signed by WP McIntosh and president DM Tyrrell. Dateline Aurora June 1, 1880. Incorporated April 2, 1880. Not cancelled. Mining buildings vignette. Crocker & Co. of San Francisco printer. Location of mines: Esmeralda Mining District, Esmeralda Co., Nev. Principal place of business: Aurora, Esmeralda Co. Nev. Heavy folds with small tears at edges. Overall nice. Neidy built one of the iconic brick stores on Pine Street. He arrived in 1860 and lived there until his death in 1890 making him Auror's longest resident. McIntosh was another important Aurora residence. When Governor Blasdel (Nevada's first) came for a visit, it was McIntosh who gave a rousing welcoming speech. David Monroe Tyrrell came to Aurora after acting as superintendent on the Overman Mine on the Comstock. He took over as superintendent of the Real del Monte.
