Stunning and remarkable heavy silver watch band bracelet. Inlaid Arizona Cardinal in Red Coral on black branches on turquoise tears as leaves. The wrist portion are alternating gold lip mother of pearl and turquoise separated by red coral. 2 3/4" Signed W. Silvers. Interestingly, this work is very similar to that of Dennis and Nancy Edaake, who also produced spectacular inlaid work. One of their pieces is featured in Hall's book on Zuni jewelry art, 1975, vol. 1, p22 in the upper5 left. Here the red coral cardinal and the accompanying design is nearly identical. Did Edaake and Silvers work together on this piece? Another interesting tidbit is Florentine Panteh. Her style of silversmith with the twisted rope is identical to that on this piece. Are all three of these artists working together? (see same reference, page 68, lower half of the page.) Frank Lewton Collection 1970's. [] [] [] [] []
