An incredible woven doll, eight inches tall, covered with over 65 coins dating from 1773 through 1867. All Bolivian silver coins, from 18th century reales, through Republic pieces from the mid 19th century. The doll's earrings are 1853 1/4 sol coins with a llama on one side with Potosi below and a pictorial of the mountain on the reverse. A 1773 1/2 real with Carolus III is in the third row up from the hem. All the coins are sown onto the doll, so are holed. (The coins need to be examined for rarities, there were just too many for a full inspection by this cataloger.) The doll has a red hat, and orange and purple sweater and a colorful full dress of many colors. A family heirloom, or the family fortune, the consignor acquired these many decades ago in the mountains of Bolivia.
