This massive archive is broken into three parts. PART 1 includes what seems to be the official documents for the company from articles of incorporation in 1901 to an unsuccessful set of letters to sell the property in 1919 ["...the deal is off..." "...the property is in no shape..." "It would take from forty to fifty thousand dollars, so as stated above, count me out of the deal.") Also in this binder are a 1905 list of stock holders, buying and selling % of company, letters of concern, minutes of meetings, notices to share holders, resolutions, letters of resignation, deeds, financial statements, annual statements. There are 55 plastic sleeves in this binder - everything needed to understand the history of this company. PART 2 includes the documents on the business side of the company. Assay reports [one for 22c a ton], Invitation to purchase the Engineering and Mining Journal including a one cent stamp for the return envelope, letters mostly about stock certificates ["The Frenchman...will take 100,000 shares of the stock at 8c..."], location notices, many letters on letterhead, sale of the Katie Allen Quartz Lode Claim, bill of lading, licenses, mining equipment advertising, four ratty stock certificates, etc. There are 33 plastic sleeves in this binder - most have multiple documents. PART 3 contains letters addressed directly to W. A. McCarthy, secretary. Includes a 1907 letterhead from the Silver Fissure Mine of Polaris talking about deeding the mine, questions about payment of taxes in arrears, stock requests, letter about 6 blue prints from Albert Hover - Helena engineer, minutes of meetings, letter from Secretary of State chastising company for not following the law, dealing with water in Shaft #3, some news of specific claims ["I am now determined to show up something here by the 1st of January of quit the camp."] There are 99 plastic sleeves in this binder.
