A dozen Nevada State Controllers Warrants that have autographs of famous Northern Nevadans, c1880-97. Autographs are of: John P. Jones, who served for 30 years (1873-1903) as a Republican United States Senator from Nevada, made a fortune in silver mining and was a co-founder of the town of Santa Monica, Calif.; H.H. Holcomb, farmer, namesake of a major road in Reno; G.W. Huffaker, farmer, namesake of a major road in Reno; S.J. Hodgkinson, Reno pioneer and druggist, a resident of Nevada for 60 years; and Frank Bell, the sixth governor of Nevada and a distant cousin of Alexander Graham Bell (7 warrants signed by Bell).
