Number 978 issued in 1888. Issued to FC Donald of the C & A Ry. and signed by vice president and general manager HC Potter. The railroad operated from 1857 to 1899 when it merged with two other lines to become the Pere Marquette Railway. The F&PM was chartered on January 22, 1857 for the purpose of constructing an east-west railway line on a route, for which a federal land grant was offered, from Flint, Michigan to Lake Michigan at Pere Marquette (now Ludington, Michigan).
