No. 247, issued for 10 shares to John Vignot on March 21st, 1864, in Dayton, Lyon Co., N.T. Signed by secretary, A.W. Russell and president, D.S. Brittin. Not cancelled. A 25-cent revenue stamps attached on the left. Black border and print, eagle, and flag vignette. No printer listed. Capitalized at $260,000; 2600 shares at $100 each. Folds, creases, and stains. 5 x 10" Listed in 1864 Collins with A.W. Russell as secretary. Claim is the Flora Ledge. District located along the canyon of the East Walker River in the southeastern corner of Lyon County, extending from the vicinity of Wichman Canyon on the north to the Mineral County line on the east and the south. Most of the district is in Lyon County. [Mining Districts of Nevada by Tingley]. John Vignot was an early active mining investor. On July 8, 1861, he bought 500 feet along with Dick Sides. This was merged into the Big Bonanza properties a decade later.
