1) Pacific Tunnel & Mining Company Stock - Flowery Mining District, Storey County, Nevada Territory ñ Incorporated a month after being Utah Territory (April 3rd 1861) - Certificate # 55 for 16 shares to James Aitken datelined Virginia City September 7th, 1861. Signed by secretary LW Ferris, Treasurer, Louis Feuser and President, TH Pinkerton. Organized on April 3, 1861, and capitalized at $1,500,000; 15,000 shares at $100 per. The claim included 16 ledges compromising 26,740 feet. This would be the largest mining claim in the Comstock area. The Flowery Mining District would be incorporated into the Comstock Mining District later in 1863. It was also known as Rogers or Summit Lake, and located in the Flowery Range, to the east. [Mining Districts of Nevada by Tingley] Virginia City was incorporated in February of 1861. Louis Feuser was one of the original trustees for the incorporation. The Feusier Octagon House is an historic octagonal house located at 1067 Green Street, in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. It was built between 1857 and 1858 by George Kenny, who sold it in 1870 to Louis Feusier. Feusier is said to have been a companion of such San Francisco notables as Leland Stanford and Mark Twain. Feusier's many business interests include wholesale produce, mining, salmon canning, winemaking, and importation of oriental goods. McClintock, Trustee datelined San Francisco April 7, 1876. Incorporated Dec. 6th, 1875, and capitalized at $10,000,000; 100,000 shares at $100 per. Signed by secretary, William McClintock and president, D. L. McDonald. Dewitt L. McDonald was a mining finance man in S.F. and an officer of other Comstock companies. McClintock was a professional mining secretary. The Alabama was a patented claim joining the Lady Bryan to the east. Ornate design by well-known artist G.T. Brown; Vignette of eagle left.
