No. 927. "Foreman[sic.] Shaft, Gold Hill, Nev." No photographer listed. Probably c.1900-10. 5 x 8" photo on 7.75 x 10.75" mount. Contrast and focus good for two thirds of the photo; washed out on the left. The Forman Shaft was the Joint Shaft of the Overman, Caledonia, Belcher, Seg. Belcher, and Crown Point mining companies in Gold Hill, according to Thompson & West. Likely one of the 1870s wave of shafts sunk to chase the lode at great depth. Not listed in Ansari!
