An 1865 love letter sent by Clark Kellison, a soldier stationed at Fort Kearny, Nebraska, to a woman named Angeline. Fort Kearny was a U.S. Army outpost constructed in 1848 which served as a key waystation and depot for both the U.S. military and civilians travelling west along the Oregon Trail. Wagon trains restocked their supplies and rested safely under the Army's watch at this fort. In the letter, Kellison bemoans his deployment and wishes to be home with Angeline. [ Kearney Nebraska
