This lot includes two Precision Radiation Instruments Model 117B "Scintillators," one with a custom leather case, the other without. Batteries for these units (Four 1.5-volt D cells and two 22.5-volt cells) are still available online, but neither detector has been tested, so working condition is unknown, however both appear to be in very good condition with minimal surface wear. Also in this lot is an Eberline Instrument Corporation Geiger Counter, model E-500, Serial 1020. The exterior base has been painted a fluorescent red. All original knobs appear to be present, but the meter is no longer bolted to the lid. This unit has an internal mercury cell battery pack marked "Bad" on it in pencil. These are no longer made and would need to be replaced with a non-mercury battery. Lastly, this lot includes a Geometric GR-101A gamma ray scintillometer which uses two readily available 1.5-volt D cells. We know this one works, because we used it to find a radioactive mineral specimen in another lot. It comes in a custom-made leather case which has sufficiently shrunk around the device over time that it is difficult to remove. See photo for condition details. So get out there in the boonies and go find some uranium.
