This set of four nice mining views does not have the exact mine or location identified, but we believe it to be of Alaska. Each measures 4.75" x 6.75" mounted on 8" x 10" black cardboard. They appear to be mining an intercepted underground drift. 1) Group shot showing 17 people, some older. Was this one large family? Crease in the photo at bottom left and overall quality diminished by bleaching. 2) View showing the mining works: hydraulic systems and two men down by the river. Some structure is visible center right in the distance. Light soiling and warping. 3) Pulled back view showing the camp and larger area, including snow-capped mountain in the background. Piles of logs and a cabin in construction are shown at the bottom. 3/4" inch tear in the center. 4) View of exposed hillside and the intercepted drift. Warping.
