1) 1866 very early R-4 Aurora cancel with grid killer. Addressed to Nathaniel Howard of Chrysopolis. Dates of Chrysopolis post office narrows the date for us. 2) 1883 Registry Return Receipt. Strong Aurora cancel. Historical information on JHB Harris of Silver Peak (recipient.). 3) 1907 R-5 Second Period Usage. Doane 1 on back of envelope. Letter was sent from Reno, Nevada with a corner advertisement for the Nevada State Journal. Historical information on the Journal and recipient - J Oliver Kirkpatrick. He was a mining man and assuredly in Aurora at this time to see about a revitalization of mining in the area. 4) June 6, 1911 R-3 postmark. Aurora was in Mineral County at this time.
