Late 19th or early 20th century prohibition breast badges for the temperance movement. All four metals come with their original purple velvet lined cases. One is gold or gold plated the others are silver or silver plated. Two are Demorest Prohibition Prize Medals. William Jennings Demorest (1822-1895) was an American magazine publisher and a national prohibition leader with his second wife Ellen. Together the two of them built a fashion manufacturing and merchandising empire based on his wife's paper patterns for sewing fashion apparel. Includes background information. Very historical!
