Four certificates from different miners issued between 1899 and 1916. 1)Centennial Eureka Mining Company (ME), issued in 1899 for 50 shares. Signed by the president (illeg) and the secretary F.W. Batchelor. The company organized in 1876 in Utah, but later incorporated in Maine. Mine office was at Eureka. Lands in the Tintic district included the Centennial, Eureka, Tintic, Dove, Swan and Pelican groups. The oxidized ores carried high values of gold and silver, but their was an enormous amount of lo grade ore at the site. The company employed 300 men in 1907, when their production totaled 2310 carloads of ore or 80,000 tons (1908 Copper Handbook). Hole cxls. 2)American Fork Mining Co. (UT), issued in 1905 for 500 shares. The American Fork district is in Utah County in the Wasatch mtns. This company was not listed in the 1908 Copper Handbook. Unc. 3)Honerine Mining and Milling Company (UT), issued in 1906 for 100 shares. Their ore was mostly silver-lead with copper as a by-product. Had a 10,800' drainage and transportation tunnel which cost $1 million. Along with it's twin, the Honerine Tunnel and Mining Co., they owed over $220,000 in debt in 1908, and were to be sold by the sheriff (1908 C.H.) Two holes punched at right. 4)Colorado Consolidated Mines Company (UT), issued at Provo, Ut. in 1916. Signed by Jesse Knight as president. The company held 28 claims near the Sioux Consolidated in the Tintic district, Juab County. Had a large deposit of low grade ore with silver, gold, lead and copper values (M.H. 1918).
