Cut square autograph of Frank James in pencil with repro photograph. Frank James (1843-1915) and his brother Jessie were among the best known American bank and train robbers. The began during the civil war as part of Quantrill's confederate raiders, and never stopped after that until 1876 when Jessie was killed during a robbery in Northfield MN, killing there partners the younger brothers. Jessie was killed in 1882. Frank went into hiding. His autographs are extremely rare.
