Possibly the only one known. Low number 7, issued for 75 shares to James McGuigin on July 5th, 1866 in Philadelphia. Signed by vice president Robert P. Harris and treasurer Silas Betts. Not cancelled. Green border and print. Two vignettes: miner working underground (top center) and portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the left. No printer listed. 25 cent adhesive revenue stamp attached on the bottom right. Pinholes, folds, creases, some soiling and toning. 7 x 11.75" Not listed by Hollister. According to the Colorado Miner (Weekly) (Volume III, Number 29, December 9, 1869), the company owned 800 ft. on the Mountain Lion Lode, 900 ft. on the Waterloo Lode, 800 ft. on the Covington Lode, 1,600 ft. on the Pine Tree Lode, one 5,000 ft. tunnel claim, a mill site, and a 320 acre ranch site. A. Blackman is superintendent. Twenty-eight men are employed. Another article a week later mentions their reduction works in Gilson Gulch, and that they brought 235 lbs. troy silver bullion to Georgetown for melting. An 1871 article mentions a sheriff sale of the company property. An 1876 article mentions that the Franklin Mine is going to be reopened.
