This group of pins and ribbons are for conferences of Fraternal Organizations in Butte, Montana in the years 1890-1905. Twelve pins and ribbons in all. The A.F&A.M. is represented 1896 (Ancient Free & Accepted Masons) Butte; Three ribbons from the O.E.S. (Order of the Eastern Star) this is the women's side of Free Masons; The other badges and ribbons are from the A.O. U. M. (American Order of United Workmen) Delegates of Honor. The A.O.U.M is no longer in existence. These organizations were formed after the Civil War to provide services to individuals that needed financial assistance. Several of these organizations formed in insurance companies that we know today. Please see photos for details.
