A collection of correspondence (approx. 4 pieces) and ephemera (approx. 28 pieces) from Fred Grutt of Reno, Nevada, dating from the 1930s and 1940s. Grutt was a major stockholder in the Rawhide Western Railway, a proposed railway that was meant to take passengers from Rawhide, Nevada to Schurz, Nevada. The correspondence discusses mining in Rawhide as well as the purchase and sale of land. The ephemera consists of a check bearing Grutt's name and profession, a stack of his business cards, and several expiration notices for insurance policies that he sold. [ Reno Nevada
