Important group of photographs from Freeport Nickel mine at Moa Bay, Cuba. This group of 11 x 16 photographs consisting of approximately 10 views shows Freeport's nickel cobalt mine at Moa Bay Cuba. One small additional 4 x 5" snapshot tells the story of a Cuban gorilla, soldier of Fidel Castro, showing a rifle with members of the mine staff in the background probably taken at the takeover of the mine in 1960. The large photographs are professional views of the plant at Moa Bay. This is an important group illustrating the difficulties of international mining in unsettled political environments.
