This lot is an outstanding discovery of two old steamer trunks that came from Germany and Denmark to the Placentia - Fullerton area about 1890. It contains original family belongings of two families, Myers and Hansen, among other relatives. The family archive includes about 3 matted photos of an early oil well in Placentia and two photos of an oil pipe production facility probably in the same area, as a wagon with the same pipe is in the foreground of the oil well photo. The family photos are mostly identified (a bonus!) and perhaps number 50 or so. There are approximately 40 letters dating from 1890 onward, many in Danish or German, coming from the homeland to California relatives. Several scrap books are also present. There are a number of vintage woman's clothing pieces (all appear pre-1900), baby shoes, and other personal items that forced us to keep this archive together, as most like this are now lost to history. About one cubic foot is all Fullerton, c 1900-1915, including Fullerton High School belt and buckle, numerous school year books, autograph books, and so forth. This is a treasure trove worthy of any museum. [ California
