Different style assay memorandum for GW Bell. This form has Savage Mining Company preprinted. Deposit from the Franklin Mill on Feb. 15th, 1864 (Nevada still a Territory). One bar of bullion weighing 1,261.30 ounces, .953 fineness silver and .032 fineness gold. Total value is $2,388.51. Signed by Bell. Purple font. 10" x 7.75" Fold, some staining on edges and portion missing bottom left. The Franklin Mill was a small mill located on the Carson River two miles above Dayton. Kelly's 1862 directory describes it as a 30 x 60 ft main building, a stone dam, 10 stamps, and 2 arastras, processing ore from the Daney Mine.
