Very rare Comstock mill. The Savage Mining Company of Virginia City, Nevada has deposited two sacks of retorted silver amalgam from Hunts Mill on Oct. 10, 1863. From this two ingots of silver and gold, 771 and 744 ounces, have been produced. Total value $3,064.43. Folds, one portion missing on left edge. According to Ansari, Hunts Mill was located in Lyon County. In 1865, the Stead & Hunt Mill, owned by JB Hunt and Mr. Stead, was a 15 stamp steam mill with 5 pans and processing material from the Yellow Jacket Mine.
