# 574 for 1736 shares to Thomas E Atkinson trustee. SIgned by president William S Wells and Thomas A Atkinson. Dateline San Francisco 1878. Incorporated October 1877. Location: Globe District, Pinal County. Not cancelled. GH Floto printer. Three assessment stamps and one dividend stamp on back. Stock must have been exposed to moisture at some time as stamped items are smeared. However no rips or tears or major folds. Fair. In the 1870's the Globe District was very active. Silver nuggets were being found in Richmond Basin with one as large as 60 pounds being circulated. Hinton states that the General Lee had a 6' vein of silver ore and was near the McMillan (also in this sale) about 20 miles east of Globe on the east side of Apache Mountain. The name probably refers to southern sympathizers, perhaps ex-soldiers from the Civil War. [Filer] Prag Collection
