Its claim to fame was when it absorbed the Fokker-America a subsidiary of General Motors. The Fokkers turned out to be inferior to the new Douglas fighters. So they were purchased and equipped five squadrons were ultimately equipped with these planes, two observation, two bombardment, and one pursuit squadron.
