Signed by president William Meredith and secretary AC Morse. Not cancelled. Blue border and print with two allegorical vignettes (woman and eagle with flags). Printed by Towne & Bacon. Three adhesive revenue stamps on the reverse: two 10 cent Bill of Lading and one 5 cent Agreement. 5.25 x 10.25" Folds, clean. Meredith was a lawyer, notary public, conveyancer and commissioner of deeds in Aurora. 'Captain' often proceeds his name. Morse was also an attorney and notary public. He was located in the Wingate Building on the west side of Silver Street. Hooker was involved in quicksilver and silver mining in Sonoma County.
