Lot of (2) vintage General Store scales. First is a Universal Family Scale Co., patent 1865. Brass scale face with large needle, round weight tray above, 12" diameter. Measures 10" tall, scale box measures 7" by +5", scale face is 5.25" in diameter. Cast iron construction, with screw-attached large footed open base (inner workings are visible). Second scale is labeled "Homepride Family Scale," by Salter. Large white face dial, large needle. Enameled white weight tray with this unit, listed "Homepride Flour" inside the tray. Tray measures 10.5" x 7.5" x 1.5" deep. Scale measures 9.5" tall, 5.5" wide X 3.75" deep. Embossed sheet metal construction, large footed formed metal base. Both scales feature adjusting knobs on top below the weight tray/ holder. Both units are in good to very good condition, and appear to be functional. Please see photos.
