From the March 17, 1897 fight between Gentleman Jim Corbett and Fitzsimmons in Carson City. HK-276 showing James J. Corbett's bust on the obverse surrounded by 13 florets and having the name JAS. J. CORBETT below on the obverse. The reverse has the legend "SOUVENIR FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD CARSON CITY NEV MARCH 17 1897" within a wreath and the words "CORBETT-FITZSIMMONS CONTEST" along the bottom edge. Brass, 33 mm. EF-AU condition. A fourteen-round thriller, the reigning heavyweight titlist, James J. "Gentleman Jim" Corbett, was dethroned by Robert Fitzsimmons. The documentary film directed by Enoch J. Rector, running more than 100 minutes, became the world's first feature film.
