This group of clothing and scraps all come from the insulation of a house in Utah, discovered in 2024, and the subject of more than a dozen denim items found in this catalog. The men's clothing are in full scrap form, deteriorated almost to the point of unrecognition.

1. men's dress pants, striped material, metal buttons embossed "Smith Bros. Dundee". The metal buckle is unmarked. These pants date to about 1871 when the Smith Bros ran a large dry goods store in Dundee, Illinois. It is tempting to suggest they were owned by a Mormon family, as Dundee is only about 190 miles from Navoo, and the firm was "Smith Bros." Then the fact that the pants made it to Utah....

2. Men's dress vest. Buckle marked "* Paris".
