Atlas to Accompany Monograph 31, Geology of the Aspen District, Colorado. J.E. Spurr. 1898. 18.5" x 21.5". Brown Government boards, a little wear to extremities, complete, generally fine plus. Contains the usual topographic map, geologic map, and sections. Spurr was one of the very talented team of economic geologists for the USGS at a time when intensive work was being done to understand the geology of our ore deposits. The USGS Monograph series took a close look at many important mining districts. Spurr was part of an early team that included Fred Ransome, Charles Walcott, Arnold Hague and others.
