Lot of 7 GG Rice items. Includes six stock certificates, three signed by Rice, plus a 1918 typed letter on George Graham Rice Securities letterhead signed by Rice. Stocks include: Rice Oil Co. (1918, signed by Rice as president); Monster Chief MC (1916, issued to and signed on reverse by Rice); Lampazos Silver Mines Co. (1918, signed on reverse by Rice); Hilltop-Nevada MC (1923); Reorganized Broken Hills Silver Corp. (1930); and Broken Hills Comb. MC (1921). In his 20's, Rice served 6 years at Sing Sing for forgery. He changed his name from Jacob Hersig to George Graham Rice and headed for Goldfield, Nevada to promote bogus mining stocks. He was indicted for mail fraud and raised money for his defense with his biography, "My Adventures With Your Money" in 1910. Through the late 1920's, Rice was at it again. In 1928, he was captured and served more time.
