1821. Lot for lot 517, surveyed April 10, 1821, 490 acres in the 13th district, Appling County, awarded to Thomas Taylor of Bibb County, signed by Georgia Governor George Towns in 1848 and surveyor general PM Compton. The survey shows Florida Creek running through the center of the lot in a northerly trend. Stands of pine permeate the land. The 1821 survey is printed on blue paper, a departure from the usual buff colored paper. The deed itself is detached along a fold horizontally at center. No transfer stains from the medallion, which is very well struck and much lighter color than most.. The property is located just south of the Altamaha River, the site of some of the earliest white man civilization in Georgia.
