Baptized mark imperial currency, Ornate green border, green underprint Reich eagle, signature of various officials of Reich Debt Admin and imprinted eagle seal left of signatures. Printed by Reichsdruckerei (printing office of the German Empire) #116560 has coupons attached and each has embossed eagle seal.
Initially issued to buy foreign currency to pay for Germany’s reparations which cause hyperinflation (printing value when you have none). Due to hyperinflation in the fall of 1922 the mark was near worthless and these were used to heat the fireplace. [ Germany 1922 Ken Prag Collection
