Gila Silver Mining Company stock certificate No. 8560, incorporated January 23, 1875 in California. Issued to W.W. Parrish for 10 shares ($100 per share) in San Francisco on November 1, 1877. Location: Reveille Mining District, Nye County, Nevada (printed under title). Signed by the president (illegible) and Hugh Elias (secretary). Uncanceled. Black border and print. Vignette of mine hoist (left). 5x9.25". Pinholes, folds. Left border trimmed tight.

The Reveille district is 35 miles from Tybo. In Thompson and West's 1881 "History of Nevada", the Gila is mentioned as the major mine in the Reveille District. It had a shaft of 460' and a tunnel 1000' long.

The Gila was the major producer of this district. It ran from 1874 to 1891 and produced $530,000 of the $611,000 produced by the district. "The claim of this company, located above, embracing several locations, aggregating 100,000 feet, has been but partially prospected, but that little brought to light large bodies of milling ore, which return average assays of $100. Assays have been made high as $600. The mine is in a prosperous condition and work is pushed rapidly." (Annual Mining Review and Stock Ledger, 1876, p. 48).
