Very nice billhead datelined Bodie, Cal in 1880 to the Homer Mill and Mining Company which operated in Mono County. Gillson, Barber was basically the general store in Bodie and Mammoth City. Gillson, Barber was the agent for Hercules Powder and also Halladie's Wire Rope. See our earlier auction regarding Andrew Halladie. His wire rope was used in the mines in Virginia City and later for the streetcars in San Francisco. He was the father of the cablecar. On the back it reads, "supplies for mine, Voucher #32, $175,98". Billheads and letterheads from Bodie merchants have become increasingly rare and sought after. [ Bodie California
