Inc. February 1st, 1910. No. 329, issued for 100 shares to WD Harris on May 4th, 1911 in Colfax. Signed by the president and Lyman Gilmore, the inventor of the air machine, as secretary. Not cancelled. 6 x 10" Tear on top border. Lyman Wiswell Gilmore, Jr. (June 11, 1874 – February 18, 1951) was an aviation pioneer. In Grass Valley, California, he built a steam-powered airplane and claimed that he flew it on May 15, 1902. Due to the requirement of a heavy boiler and the dependency on coal as a power source, the claim is very questionable. Records and evidence relating to his claim were lost in a 1935 hangar fire. On March 15, 1907, Gilmore opened the first commercial airfield, Gilmore Airfield, in Grass Valley. City:Grass Valley State:California Date:1911
