Four low numbered stocks in Glenmore Productions issued and signed by President Billy Rose, 1948-50. Billy Rose was personal secretary to Bernard Baruch of the War Industries Board during World War I, and went on to become a lyricist and Broadway Promoter into the 1960s. Among his hit lyrics are "Me and My Shadow," "Does the Spearmint Lose its Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight," "I Found a Million Dollar Baby" and "It's Only a Paper Moon." Despite his successes, Billy Rose faced financial difficulties due to his ambitious projects and extravagant lifestyle, a part of his life which was portrayed by James Caan in the 1975 Columbia Pictures movie, "Funny Lady," also starring Barbra Streisand. Later in life, Rose focused on writing, including publishing his autobiography titled "Wine, Women and Words." He was born William Samuel Rosenberg on September 6, 1899, in New York City, and passed away on February 10, 1966, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry.
