Incredibly rare. # 460 for 25 shares to Bernard Vaservogel. Signed by Vaservogel and president Heineman. Dateline New York 1880. Incorporated in New York in 1879. Eagle, glove, allegorical female, underground mining vignettes. Day & Batchelar printers. Not cancelled. Bright red seal with blue ribbons (quite unique!) Edge issues. Ink eating away paper in a few places. "...proceeding up Monitor Creek toward the town of Monitor (a mining with a present population of about 200), we reach the Globe Gold Silver Mining Company's mine and mill on the right or eastern side the creek. This company, under the superintendence of General Winchester, has done a considerable amount of work, About 300 feet from the mouth of its tunnel was struck gray sulphide of copper - some of which assayed as high as 37 per cent copper and $26 in silver with a trace of gold. On this the company sinking but had got down only 30 or 40 feet when the water proved much to for the machinery. The company is driving the main tunnel to ledge which is on the same belt as the Imperial and which is to be struck in 60 or 70 feet The mill has been run only experimentally."
