Mine and mill at Forbestown, Butte County, California. Inc. in Colorado. No. 337, issued for 1,000 shares to D.B. Cherry on May 13th, 1890 in Denver. Signed by the president, Drake, and secretary, Dean. Not cancelled. Gold seal and underground mining vignette. Folds with some separation occurring along fold lines. 7.75 x 10.5" Not in Filer. According to History of Butte County by Mansfield, there was extensive work being done at the Gold Bank Mine in 1890 including extending the Gold Bank crosscut tunnel 2,500 feet, and having the shaft down to 320 feet with considerable stoping occurring. The ore was being treated by Huntington centrifugal mills, concentrators, and chlorination with great success. Owned by W.W. Stow until his death in 1895, then taken over by his family. This book calls it one of the biggest and most successful gold-producing quartz mines in California. Located 1/4 northeast of Forbestown.
