Printed by Elgan Bank Note Co. Denver, Colo. Size 10 by 7 inches. Not cancelled. Strange discoloration line, perhaps from stock book? Otherwise fine. Brown raised seal. Grey border. "The property thus owned consists of the Globe, Close Shave, Lady Stith, Deerhorn Deerhorn No 2, and Pride of the Rockies; in all about 35 acres, all patented in section 18, on Globe hill. Also owns the Callie, about 5 acres, in section 19, on Gold hill, adjoining the Anaconda [The Official Manual of the Cripple Creek District, Colorado, U. S. A.] "W.S. Stratton was indeed the ìMidas of the Rockies.î For 19 years he was a failed prospector, but in 1891, his luck changed and he became legend.
