Includes a fabulous ocean going dredging scene just off of the coast with a few buildings pictorial vignette! # 153 for 2300 shares to FF Evans. Signed by SE Futty and president H Blackwell. Dateline Seattle 1909. Not cancelled. What a marvelous, creative, and innovative dredge. Using a large barge a caisson weighing five town was lowered by steam power through a rectangular section in the barge. Once down to sand level the water would be forced out and a worker could then work the sand to bedrock by hand. It was tried off of the Nome beaches and at the mouth of Daniels Creek at Topkok, but the lack of any ongoing mention of this contraption would indicate that this became yet another addition to the scrap heap along the Bering Sea.
