Gold Gravel Mining Company, later known as Poker Flat Drift Prospect - A collection of early documents and a receipt booklet with tear out receipts: 1) Letter head "La Porte, Plumas County, California", Gold Gravel & Hyd. Mining Company on Oct 18 1884. Lists workers (Pike and Steward) and their pay, with a balance of $23.50 due. 2) Handwritten note, dated Nov 28, 1884, La Porte. Listing 6x goods purchased by Gold Gravel Hill Mining from Sep-Oct for a total of $893, Signed by S.S. Russell for payment received. 3) Handwritten Note, dated Dec 9, 1884 in La Porte, Hop Sing & Co. bill for goods provided to the Gold Gravel & Hydraulic Co. for $29.22, incl. nitric acid, 2 cans of oil for tunnel cars, brooms for cleaning bedrock, rice flour to white wash, 316 feet of lumber and 2 days pay. 4) Bound receipt booklet with tear out receipts consecutive #80 to #92, missing only #83, with the dates ranging from Oct, 29, 1884 to Dec 14, 1884 out of La Porte, CA. Signed by various different workers that got paid for various tasks performed for the mine. The most interesting is from Neil Miller, who got payed for 2 days work of fighting the fire in September 1883. Some receipts loose in booklet.
