Two great Comstock pieces. A bullion memorandum dated Jan. 23, 1890 for the Gold Hill Assay Office (W.S. James Assayer) for a deposit by the Justice Mining Company (which was a mine in Silver City). Two bars, 906 oz. and 1,236 oz, both 95% silver. Signed by James as assayer. Attached to this memorandum is a Memorandum of Silver Bullion Purchased at the Carson City Mint. Dated Feb. 3rd, 1890. The two deposits from James totaling 2,140 ounces have now been melted into one 2,140 silver bar worth $4,008.62 (silver @ $1.16 an ounce).
