Rare. Lot of four checks from four different banks. 1). H.H Flagg of Gold Hill. This check is written to Neil Woodleaf by Flagg, dated 9 January 1872, and has a grilled R15 R2 orange 2c U. S. Revenue stamp. 2). Bank of California, Gold Hill office, written 7 June 1876 to James Mumsell Jr. in the amount of $200.00 by [illegible]. RN-D1. 3). Written on Maynard & Flood Bankers to William Lee, for $34. This is the only check in this grouping that is not endorsed on the back. It has a canceled 2c R7R2 blue Revenue Stamp attached to the upper left-hand corner. 4). An R7 R5 revenue stamp is attached to this Wells, Fargo & Company $500 check, dated 1 July 1863. It is made out to Thomas Norman at the Gold Hill. A large handwritten “Paid” is over the payer’s signature, making it illegible. All the checks are in good to very good condition with desk tack holes and some slight creases.
