4x Stock Certificates from Gold Hill Mining District

1. Segregated Rock Island Mining Company, incorporated May 13, 1873; located on Comstock Lode , Gold Hill mining district, Nevada. Certificate no. 703 issued to E. Fischer, Jr for 50 shares at $100 each on Oct 6,1874 in San Francisco. Signed by president Chas. Land and secretary Wm Watson. Signed by Watson and Fischer on reverse, not cancelled.
Black border and print by Crocker & Co, San Francisco.
The claim was located 1859 in the American Flat District of Gold Hill, next to Baltimore Consolidated. By 1878 it had a 900ft deep with a drift to the ledge on the 450ft level, quartz was found on the 650 and 850ft level. ( Pacific Coast Annual Mining Review and Stock Ledger 1878, pg. 236-237).

2. Curtis Consolidated Mining Company, incorporated Sep 1878; located in Gold Hill District, Nevada.
Certificate no. 749 issued to the company secretary, H. S. Stone(?) for 100 shares at $100 each on March 2, 1880 in San Francisco. Signed by W. Smith(?) as president and Stone. Signed by Stone on reverse, not cancelled. Black print and border, by A.J. Leary, SF.
Cleary a take-off of the famous Yellow Jacket Mine in Gold Hill, that got the company deeded in May 1880.

3. Exchequer Mining Company, incorporated July 1865; located in Gold Hill District, Nevada. Certificate no. 32273 issued to T. R. Hofer for 50 shares on Jan 17, 1887 in San Francisco. Signed by president C. Hirschfeld and secretary Chas. Elliot. Pen cancelled. Black border and print by W.T. Galloway Litho Co., SF. 12 Revenue stamps on the back.
Small vignette of working miners on front bottom.
The mine was located next to The Yellow Jacket mine, on the "gut" of the Comstock.
