Nine Gold Hill. 1) Most interesting is the 1874. Excellent strike ('NEV' struck poorly). The accompanying letter was never used by the Gold Hill Chamber of Commerce. Statements like "most desolate and barren country I ever saw…" and "the wind blows here more or less all the time..." would not attract many visitors. Other rather damming comments are made. 2) Rarity-4. Very Nice Gold Hill Strike. 1887. This is a unique Comstock postal history piece. The imprinted Wells Fargo cover is cancelled by a San Francisco Wells Fargo Stamp and also a straight line Gold Hill, Nev. Postmark which cancels the stamp. It is addressed to Fred Sharon of San Francisco. He was the son of William Sharon. 3-9) 1878 Blue, JO Bennetts cc, two double ring postmarks (ONE EARLY 1865, 1875 blue), etc. Ten Virginia City. 1-2) Double circle N. T. One dated 1864. 2) Noe Photographic envelope with two two cent green Washington. Also newspaper 1c envelope, Leonard 1918 (owner of Sutro Tunnel), Singer Sewing Machine 1877 with letter, 1866, 1870, etc.
