Not in Filer. There was a Gopher Hill Mine (Gopher Ridge) located at Telegraph City on the divide between Buckham Gulch and Copper Gulch in Calaveras County that operated in the 1920s and 1930s. Gopher Ridge near Copperopolis was the site of a copper discovery in 1860 by Hiram Hughes. Isaac Swain is listed as a stock broker in the Langley 1864 & 1865 Directories.
