This Yei depicts four woven Yei figures holding bows and arrows. The Yei are Navajo deities or holy people. It is important for Native American art collectors to recognize that depictions of Navajo Yei are not exact replicas of complete sand paintings; instead, these weavings include only elements from sand paintings the weaver chooses to share. Weaving shows variations in yarn shades--there is one small area that appears to be a stain--66" x 32".
