A collection of ephemera relating to the Goldfield Consolidated Mines Company, dating c. 1910-1920. Goldfield Consolidated was a holdings company owned by George S. Nixon
and George Wingfield, two of Nevada's most prominent economic and political figures in the early 1900s. The two men bought controlling interests in numerous Goldfield mines, and following the buyout of their only competitor in 1907, gained a monopoly over the area's gold mining. The resulting operation produced millions of dollars worth of gold.
The collection contains numerous financial documents and pieces of correspondence related to Goldfield Consolidated's functioning, including records of transactions, banking documents, and ledgers of operating expenses. [ Goldfield Nevada
