Lot of 5 stocks, 3 varieties, all signed by George Wingfield, a prominent Nevada banking, mining, and political figure. He went from being a faro dealer to the position of richest man in Nevada in less than five years. With his partner, George Nixon, he established the Goldfield Consolidating Mining Company, which ultimately produced more than $50 million worth of ore. In 1906, they formed the Nixon National Bank of Reno. In 1908, Wingfield moved to Reno, where he became active in politics, banking, ranching, and hotels. 1) Goldfield Consolidated Mines Company. Two early stocks issued in 1907, signed by Wingfield as vice president. Punch cancelled. 2) Two later stocks from the same company, also signed by Wingfield as VP in 1956. Punch and stamp cancelled. 3) Getchell Mine, Inc. Stock issued in 1957, signed by Wingfield as president. Punch cancelled.
